Description :	Machine à tonnerre en tôle de fer rivetée, châssis bois, ressorts. Cette machine roulante composée de tôle de fer rivetée, d'un châssis en bois et de ressorts, se présente sous la forme d'une chariot posé sur des roues dentées, de 2 mètres de longueur et d'1, 20 mètre de large.

Historique :	Cette machine est le seul témoin d'une machinerie théâtrale d'origine. Attachée au théâtre Graslin qui fut construit par Mathurin Crécy sur un projet de 1783, le premier théâtre a brûlé en 1796 et fut reconstruit par Crécy lui-même en 1811-1813. Le second différait peu du premier, tout au moins pour l'extérieur. Depuis, lors d'une importante campagne de travaux entre 1865 et 1880, les aménagements intérieurs ont été profondément modifiés. Ce théâtre est inscrit en totalité sur l'inventaire supplémentaire des monuments historiques par arrêté du 8 décembre 1998.
